The Role of the Senses in Alternative Medicine & Spirituality

We are looking for volunteers to take part in a study on how the sensorial dimensions in alternative therapies and in spiritual practices contribute to well-being and healing.

Participating in this study will take between 30-60 minutes and will involve filling out a questionnaire followed by an open-ended interview. The focus of the questions will be primarily on the sensorial aspects that are most important in contributing to your sense of well-being.

5 Week Prenatal Yoga Course

Monday from 6PM to 7PM

May 29 - June 5 - June 12 - June 19 - July 10

Prenatal Yoga is a class series specifically designed for your journey of pregnancy and birth. The classes interweave childbirth education as well as addressing therapeutic applications – common aches and pains. Linking yoga postures with the breath, mindful movement and meditation will lead you to new discoveries and bring awareness to your mind, body and spirit, and strengthen your connection with your baby.

Cultivate and honor the power and strength that you have within. You possess an innate wisdom that intuitively understands the very natural process of pregnancy and birth. We honor your unique journey and the choices that you take for your pregnancy and birth.

The classes, guided in a calm, peaceful environment will help strengthen the uterus and pelvic floor muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, exercise the spine and increase overall comfort. You will meet and bond with other pregnant women. At the end of the class you will feel calm, confident, refreshed, and deeply connected to your body and to your child. Previous yoga experience is not required and participation can commence at any stage in your pregnancy.
